1. be genuinely interested in her specifically - everyone likes to feel special. if she thinks she is interchangeable with the other girlz to you, you have no chance.
2. be genuinely interesting. if she has to entertain you, you're a job. if you can entertain her, you're a possible date.
3. do NOT talk to or tip other dancerz while you are courting her.
4. do NOT talk about sex or how much you want to have sex with her. this is all dancerz hear all night and if they hear it from you, you should be paying her for having to listen to it, not dating her.
5. do tell jokes and anecdotes - women love both humor and the mundane, especially people with flaky lives.
6. exude confidence - dancers like men with good self-esteem. desperation places you in the "customer" category.
7. tip, but not too much. this is a big one. if you don't tip her like she's special, she will be insulted, but if you tip too much you'll be too important to her as a customer to take the risk of losing the income. I suggest decent tips each set and handing her a nice tip when you leave (rather than as a table dance fee). weird little gifts like stuffed dollz, flowerz and the like are a good addition, too. give them to her in front of her friendz.
8. do visit on regular non-weekend nights so she can know when to expect you and can make time for you painlessly. do not expect her to spend the whole evening with you as this is her job, so stay for only limited amounts of time. this will keep her looking forward to seeing you again rather than having her worry about how much money she's losing by sitting with you.
9. be vulnerable. dancerz tend to be maternal and like men who aren't perfect. dancerz also tend to have self-esteem issues and prefer men who are somewhat flawed. perfect-seeming people make everyone uncomfortable.
10. be flexible. dancing isn't a career, it's a lifestyle. if you can't stand the heat, stay out of the kitchen.
*additional notes: part 1 wasn't entirely tongue-in-cheek. musicians really are generally a shoo-in. :p
remember that dancerz are just women and that they are at work all the time and sleep in, so single dancerz do date men they meet in clubz.
